PHOTO RESTORATION

How do you fix my damaged pictures?

We scan your photos and special papers into the computer, then we digitally retouch them.  Your original pictures never leave our office and once they're scanned, we don't touch them again until we deliver them back to you.

When the work is done, we post the picture to a specific location on our website.  We then notify you of the location so you can approve (or make suggestions to) the image.  Often, we display an image in various forms, like true black and white, sepia, etc., at no extra charge.

Can you make my damaged pictures look brand new?

Our goal is for the final product to appear as if it was completely original.  But if that original was blurry, there's not much that can be done to sharpen it.  However, we think if you take a look at our examples, you'll agree that the restored versions are much improved from the original, damaged ones.

OK.  So you do great work.  How much does it cost?

While we must first look at your picture to give you a quote, there are three basic categories of restoration that you can use as a guideline:

  • Minor - $40.  Pictures that fall into the Minor category include ones that have the following problems or needs:

    • scratches or creases that do not seriously affect an important subject in the photo

    • small, rather insignificant "artifacts" on the print that need to be removed

    • enlargements

    • slight color adjustments

  • Moderate - $40-$60.  Pictures that fall into the Moderate category include ones that have the following problems or needs:

    • scratches or creases that affect a subject's body or face, but not an important facial feature (especially the nose or mouth)

    • missing pieces that can be cloned from other parts of the image

    • relatively minor objects that need to be removed/enhanced

  • Major - $60+.  Pictures that fall into the Major category include ones that have the following problems or needs:

    • severe fading

    • scratches across important features, especially facial, that may require another picture to fix the original

    • major features that need to be removed/enhanced

So what's the bottom line?

Most jobs can be done for $40-60.  The best way to know is for us to look at the image.  We can either schedule to meet somewhere in the NW Georgia area, or you can simply scan or take a picture of the image and attach it to an email or text it to us at 706-346-8731.  We'll be happy to give you a fair and competitive estimate.

We treat each image as if they were our own.  If you are interested in having some pictures restored, please let us know!
